One of my favorite ways to start prepping for the next week is look at who saw the most work, who saw the most passes thrown their way. This week, we're looking at who's seen the biggest increase in targets over the last 2 weeks.
John Brown - Brown has seen 20 more targets over the last two weeks than the first two. His targets have gone 4, 3, 11, and then a league leading 16 in week 4. It's always been tough to predict which Cardinal receiver will get the work, but 13.5 targets per game over the last 2 weeks is the start of a trend. He's only 76% owned in Yahoo! leagues, and is just $4,400 on DraftKings. I'll have plenty of John Brown this week in the Thursday game vs the 49ers!
Jimmy Graham - 1, 4, 9, 8... his targets over the first four weeks. Graham suffered a season-ending torn patellar tendon in his right knee last year and was eased into games to start the year. Over the last 2 games however, he's been the tight end everyone was hoping for last year. With 2 straight 100 yard games, Graham and the Seahawks head into their bye week. This will give him and Russell Wilson an extra week to get healthy. They get the Falcons in week 6, who were terrible against tight ends last year, carrying over to this year as well, giving up the 2nd most points to the position. Load up!
Melvin Gordon - 0, 3, 7, 7. Ever since Danny Woodhead was lost for the season in week 2, Gordon has gotten those targets. He had 6 catches last week against the Saints. His yards per carry has been down the last 2 games (2.02), but with the increase in targets, his floor in PPR leagues, like DraftKings, is very high. Six touchdowns in the 4 games to start the season also helps!
Honorable Mention: Bobby Rainey - Playing the Shane Vereen role, Rainey had 9 targets on Monday night against the Vikes, resulting in 7 catches. He's a great value play in PPR leagues.
